What is the BEST way to install an application and then run it? Should we run a post install script, a post distribution script, or create 2 application objects?

as long as you put in the path to the executable you only need one application object to install and run the app. Unless you are using the path to executable line to fire the install or setup. IF that's the case why not run snapshot or create an MSI install package for the application.
