Starting an app in a certain workspace via command line

Here is the deal:

I want to add a line to my .profile that will start an app called "dpt" in
the workspace called Lab.

Starting the app works fine but how do I get it to start in the "Lab"
workspace?

what is the "lab" workspace? is it a directory/folder? Part of another program?
