Hello,

Has anyone ever come across a situation where you get errors every other time you start up the database???
enviroment is a SUN box with ingresII.

Hi,
Define "ERRORS". data corruption? Lost records? Logon's invalid?

I wonder if it is possible that the database isn't being SHUTDOWN properly.

For example the database is up and the server is shutdown. The database should have a K script in the /etc/rc1 directory that is automatically run when the system is shutdown and shutdown the database before the server goes down.
