Hi!
I'm using a tape changer (Compaq SSL2020). I have two jobs in the Q. Changes in volume of data now means three tapes are used for the backup. The first job was finishing, but now that the second job requires two tapes, it overwrites the tape from the first job when it looks for a second tape.
To prevent this I have created two device groups, and assigned slots from the changer accordingly. I have also created two media pools and assigned tapes to the save set. Each job is configured to use a different device group - thus preventing the second job overwriting the first.
But now I'm getting media not found errors and both jobs fail. Both jobs are set to "Overwrite same media name, or blank media first, then any media" and they are using * for media names - I'm only telling them which device group to use. I can't see what the problem is (apart from the fact it's Arcserve...)
Can anyone shed some light on this? I've logged it with CA, but if my past experience is anything to go on it'll be faster asking for help here.
Thanks in advance...
