Greetings
i have a guest mailbox on a Startalk 1.8 on a ICS that will not accept messages if you dial the extension number from the auto attendant. The calls end up in the GDM. But if you dial by name through the directory you can get to her mailbox. I cant see any difference with this guest mailbox and others on the system. I've even tried deleting the mailbox and rebuilding but the same thing happens. Any suggestions?
Thanks

When you are dialing digits in a Startalk, the voicemail is looking for actual extensions, not mailboxes. Well this is what I think.

Check the mailbox COS in startalk and check the station call forwarding (Norstar)- it must be set for Startalk DN for No Answer and (optionally) Busy.

i believe as long as guest mailbox is not in the system dn range it should work ..i usually use 500 for guest mboxes

ONLY 7 WEEKS TILL SKI SEASON STARTS

It should work provided you don't give the mailbox an extension number

Thanks Guys. I've checked all that stuff and i still have the glitch. Time to call my maintenance provider.

one other note Doubleshots: if you have DID set for this extension and your Target Line ID isn't set properly- meaning the owner isn't the extension but the OPerator (as is usually defaulted) then when the DID number is dialed and hits the AA and attempted to go to ext.... GDM

The older I get, the less I know
