Startalk Mini goes to voicemail after holding for 60 seconds

This system is running MICS 7 with a Startalk Mini version 2.6 . We recently activated the Startalk on this system and set up a CCR tree.

It seems to work except that the following situation is annoying:

- A caller phones into the system, and the auto-attendant picks up.

- The caller navigates presses 1 to reach a department.

- The staff member in the department picks up the phone, then puts the person on hold.

- Once the caller has been put on hold for 60 seconds, the voicemail prompt for that extension kicks in.

- If the caller leaves a voice mail, the system ties up the line until the staff member explicitly releases it.

- If the staff member picks up the hold while the voice mail prompt is running, then the voice mail prompt goes away. Putting the caller on hold again leaves the caller on hold indefinitely without any prompts. The staff member can then get back to that caller without any issues.

I am trying to figure out how to prevent the voice mail prompt from kicking in after a caller has been on hold for 60 seconds. So far I have had no luck looking in the **CONFIG options.

What setting do I want to change? Maybe I am looking in the wrong place?

Is this even possible? In the Startalk installation guide I read a scary message that "A user cannot put a session on hold. If the hold button is pressed during a session, is disconnected" but given that holding does seem to work I am not sure what this means.

Thanks for any help you could provide. I have only been working with phone systems for a few months so I hope this is not a dumb question.

I beleive it is a compatability issue. It's actually suprising that a STARTALK MINI would work on a MICS 7 at all. You really should upgrade to a Call Pilot

Check Hold Reminder, it defaults at 60 sec. I usually set it to 90 secs. But, you can make it longer.

Brutalis: After learning about the other limitations of the Startalk mini we are definitely planning to upgrade to a CallPilot (probably a CallPilot 100, although we are deciding whether the CallPilot 150 is worth the extra $1000 it will cost us). But in the meantime it would be nice to make that problem go away.

Deweyhumbolt: I am not on site now, but I remember seeing the option System Programming -> Featr Settings -> Held Reminder . I am pretty sure this was disabled. Is this the setting you are talking about? Do I even want it enabled?

I don't remember if you can disable it. Just put it at it's highest setting if you can't.

You can set held reminder to No, then you won't see the timer in programming.
