I have a mini and was running it on a 3X8 DR5.

On the 3X8, when I did F985, it showed me Set 27 which is where the unit was connected.

Now I'm on a CICS 4.2 and have 3 digit extentions. I re-initialized the mini and set it up again.

Now, when I F985, the display says "Set " with no extention. (Softkey OK comes up)

If I hit 7 or 9, it asks for a password.

1) Why doesn't the MINI's extension (232) show up?
2) What is the password? What is is for?

Thanks... Shawn

The star talk mini its not compatible with CICS 4.2,you have to use either a Star talk flash Rel.1.9 or higher or a call pilot.I hope that helps. Good Luck!

What's not compatible with the 4.2?

All of the features work, and all the mailboxes work fine.

Just was curious as to what password it was looking for.

Feature 985 - 9 is the procedure to reset the system manager password. At the "password" prompt you would type RESETSMPSWD to reset the admin mailbox password to 0000.

Feature 985 - 7 is the procedure to reset the operator password. This password is RESETOPERPSWD to reset the Feature 982 password back to OPERATOR.

As Sam said the Mini is not compatible, although it may appear to operate normally. I'm sure you'll find there will be transfer problems with the Mini. Brian Cox

Well... now that you mention it...

I did notice the other day that when an outside call hits a mailbox and then zero's out the attendant, any transfer to another set will go 4 rings and then get the 'operator is not available' recording...

not sure if thats an incompatibility issue with the mini but i got around it by changing the CFNA-->MINI to 3 rings...

that's the thing about Norstar... seems there's always a work around.. :)
