Hello all-

I recently acquired a used StarTalk 330 with s/w level 2.0.3. I will be using this at my house with an 824 DR5. Mainly using it for voicemail and night answering to route calls at night to a few extensions via menu choices. It is arriving tomorrow. What would be the procedure to initialize the StarTalk and reset all values to the default values?

Much thanks-

John Panzer

Boy.......it has been awhile since I've replaced one of those. I don't remember if they had hidden menu option 1 for reinstall or if you had to reload the s/w from floppy. 5 1/4" floppy.....ha ha ha ha ha. Post your results!

i never did figure out hiden menu 3 on those
anyone else

It's been a long time for me, too, but I think 983-1 did work to reinstall the last time I had to replace one.

Good luck.

Hey everybody-

Just received it today. So far, so good... reinstalling right now and seems to be OK.

Will it allow 4-digit extensions? I have our phones setup for 4-digit dialing since that is what I am most used to at the office.

As far as the 5 1/4 disks... I remember those! I still call them the "Twiggy" floppies like they did on the old Apple Lisa's and Apple II's. I haven't used one of those in YEARS... more like eons... I feel old now...

Much thanks & will keep posted...

i still woukd like to know what hiden menu 3's password is
that's been bugging me. thay's what started me drinking
now i'm a alcolick

Okay... I've got it running with 4 digit extensions... answered my own question...

Now, I want to configure the AA to answer after so many rings to transfer to VM's. Also, I want it to answer directly at night and just allow standard transfers. Any suggestions? I am thinking of building a CCR tree for day to transfer directly to VM, but building an alternate CCR tree for night service. Just trying to figure out the best way to do so.

Much thanks-

John Panzer

not going to happen with that system. one tree only day or night. unless you manually change trees. if you know a way you need not be asking Q's. let me know i might make on the tonight show

besides, way not go ahead and make it 7 digit extensions
that would make you look like a larger company.

that's what some customer's think

i never could figure out the 2,3,4,5,6,7 digit crap when you can just prees one digit to get some where. HELLO

Day
AA/Lines/XXX and set it to answer after 3 or 4 rings, this will act as a backup to reception.

Night
Go into KSU programming and setup Service Modes, make the vmails DN the only ringing member, this wil override the above at night.

Mkay.. i'm learning how to do it now...

Curlycord has what i'm looking for... thanks!

What I also wonder is if at night there would be a way to ring all phones such as in the case of the emergency. I was thinking of possibly setting up an answer DN on each phone, say DN 7000 and then having that as a menu option or something. When they dial 7000 then it rings all phones. Also, I would have the two options to dial the other extensions directly as well....

Thanks.

That works. It'll still follow forwarding back to vm, so pay attention to your cfna settings on each set.
