4 port Startalk Flash - AA set to answer on 2 rings - It occasionally plays a message that is not the recorded AA greeting. It says "The person you are calling is not available, using the dialpad enter the number of the person you are trying to reach"

I believe that the problem might have to do with too many calls at a time maybe?

Has anyone heard of this issue?

Startalk extensions set to x127 thru 130 on MICS 0x32

Thanks.

If this were true there would be no answer as all ports would be busy.

Check your lines programming, you might have a line that's pointing to an unused table.

All 5 incoming lines are set to the same Table (one)

Tested with calling the main number from 3 phones at a time and found that increased likelihood of this issue by a lot - 75% of the time at least one of the phones would get that other message instead of the normal AA Greeting.

I had not been able to recreate the problem until I started calling in from several phones at once.

Thanks Norstarboy125 - I changed that, no fix. It is not playing a greeting then the message.
If I call the main # on 2 phones at once - the first one thru gets the correct AA message and the other gets the message "The person you are calling is not available, using the dialpad enter the number of the person you are trying to reach" - so only one call at a time is hearing the right greeting.

There are two parts to that message
The person you are calling is not available
You've got a ringing phone that is call forwarded (CFB probably) to voice mail but has no mailbox (probably the one you are using to dial out from)

and

using the dialpad enter the number of the person you are trying to reach"
your GDMB is disabled, otherwise the caller would go to the General Delivery Mailbox and not here this message

and

you don't have your greetings properly recorded

Instead of using a greeting for a greeting and the table message instructions, you probably have everything recorded in a greeting and the table is set play the canned "Norstar Nora instruction set. using the dialpad enter the number of the person you are trying to reach"

As they stated above but to mention this applies to a phone that is ringing on inbound calls.
You need to make the lines "appear only" or remove Call Forward No Answer and/or Call Forward Busy at the problem set.
General rule of thumb is do not forward no answer or forward busy a phone that acts like a reception set.

In your case since its only the odd or some calls it might be that just one of the lower lines is accidentally programmed to ring on the problem set or the problem set is designed to ring but the Call Forward Busy is programmed....remove it.

"so only one call at a time is hearing the right greeting. "
Line 2 assigned to ring at problem set maybe?.

Quick fix if only 1 or 2 sets are to answer outside calls:
-make all lines private (this will remove lines from every set) then change them back to public and re-assign the lines to the needed sets.

Thanks everyone. I believe the problem was that we had a couple of phones that had the incoming lines appear on their phones and had call fwd on busy to VM but these extensions did not have VM. So if 2 calls came in at the same time, AA picked up one and the other got the error message.
