I have a Startalk 180 (Software Rel 01 v1.4) that I am trying to configure for use with an existing Compact Plus system.

I can dial the extension that the Startalk is connected to and it answers fine. I don't know the password so having discovered the default didn't work I attempted to reset the password using F985, however the only feature code that works is F983. All others come up as "Feature Inactive"

I have since tried deleting the feature codes using XFTEST and reinitialising the system. Now only F983 has reappeared in that list.

I know that this was a working Startalk when it was decomissioned a while back.

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Ben

what rel is switch..not compatible above MICS 1.0 at 2.04l "worked but not supported"
did u do a reboot yet
try refreshing ports with 7310 set"plug in set,let come up,then plug back into vm and reboot

Sounds like it hasn't been configured yet. Do you get Pswd or Log when you dial F983? If it's Pswd you need to configure. Check our website for a quick reference on the Startalk. I don't want to post any passwords here.

Thanks. Countless reboots of the PBX and/or VM have been done. Have now refreshed the port using 7310 but still no joy.

Switch Rel 02D
CICS Rel 3 v8.13

I'm 95% certain that this particular Startalk has worked on this CCU before.

Having never configured one from scratch before, I was unaware of how to initialise the unit. It seems to be working fine now! Thanks for your advice.

I'm guessing that as the unit had sat unused for some time, the NVM had become erased, hence needing to be initialised...

Make sure you reccommend a battery backup for them, or you'll be out there doing the same thing every time they have a brownout.
