Start page as pop-up

Is there a way to cause the first page loaded to open as a pop-up (no scroll bars or toolbars)? I could do it by having the first page throw out a pop-up and close itself, but I really want the initial page to simply load itself as a pop-up instead, ideally using only HTML and jscript or vbscript. Thanks.

The problem is...

When you spawn a popup and try to get it to close the parent window (the window that opened it) you will get a message that warns the user that the window is being closed, do you agree (or something like that, it says).

What is your real goal, to remove the toolbars from the users control? Can't do it. There are security issues with this so the browsers disallow modifying the 'chrome' of the active window.

You could open a full screen popup OVER the existing window. This would annoy people though, I tried it Mike Barone
