Start Menu Programs Duplicate themselves in popup menu

My boss was going to open a program in the start/programs/ but not only to see one listing but two. Is there any fix for this? Thanks for any input given

This might happen where you have re-installed a program that an earlier version of was not uninstalled correctly. Check using the search program that you haven't two versions of the program on your computer. If not, check which link is the correct one and delete the duplicate link.

Let me update that for you I mean two menu listings of all of his programs

How long has this been happening? Perhaps you could use System Restore to get back to before it happened.

Are your anti virus software updated and current?
