Start Menu Icons are Black ??? so r some windows icons

All the windows icons on my start menu have gone black.
Also some icons at the left hand corner of some the explorer windows, is there a icon file corupt?

Any suggestions?

Try going into the display properties and change your appearance scheme. Then change it back.

If this doesn't work, try going into display properties again, then to Plus!. Select 'Use Large Icons', apply, unselect it and apply and see if that sorts it.

TweakUI (free from Microsoft or many shareware sites) has a rebuild icons option that usually fixes this kind of problem.

On NT, if you do the following and reboot, it may resolve it:

There is a file called SHELLICONCACHE under C:\WINNT. Delete this file and reboot. I guess it may be the same for W2K also.... -----------------------------------------------------
