Starplus DHS Ring Scheme & Voice Mail

We recently setup voice mail on our Starplus DHS system. The DHS manual states that Ring Scheme 1 is recommended for voice mail but doesn't say why. Staff would prefer ring scheme 2. Why is 1 recommended? How will 2 affect voice mail? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Probably because Ring Scheme 1 is 1 second on 3 seconds off for both intercom and C.O. calls. VM's are stupid and they count rings. A double ring is twice the single ring and you get the point
