Starplus 616Plus, Constant ring on line 6

I have a system in a medical arts suite that is a Starplus 616, the problem I am having is that the line 6 indicator is constantly flashing and the phones will give a short 2 ring chirp every couple of seconds. There is only one line assigned to the system. This system was in place before I took over the admin responsibilities and I know nothing about it, my thoughts are leaning toward the system is just old and is starting to die.

How long has this been happening? If you have no dial tone for line 6 why not check the ksu wiring and make sure there is nothing on line 6 port. If there is then just pull the jumper off of it. This could solve your problem, although there are other things you could troubleshoot.
