I'm replacing a CICS with 2 digit DNs connected to a StarTalk Flash with a MICS 0x32 with 3 digit DNs. Will I have to reprogram the StarTalk Flash or will it automatically detect the 3 digit DN programming.

Rrock:

You're going to have to do either the following:

1) Reset the flash and re-program it for 3 digit DN; it will not detect it and must reflect the number of DN's onthe MICS.

2) Program the MICS to 2 digit DN's.

I know from painful experience that this is what you'll have to do.

The flash will detect the change and set it's DN to match, but the rest will be as they were. The F983 12xxxx system admin login will remain as it was.

Best bet is reinstall procedure
