Star shape in the combobox

Hi,

I saw a website the other day, and they have that nice star shape (not * character) at the very first option of the comboboxes. I checked the source and there was 2 strange characters representing that star shape. I didn't notice any different fonts. Do you know how this is done?

Can you give the url? I would assume that it's ascii characters, although I think that's usually more than 2 characters.

Maybe its a dingbat or something, in which case it's dependent on the user having a certain font.
