I cannot find anything in archives. Does anyone have a listing of "Star" Codes (* + digits from dialpad used for phone/system testing)? I know only a couple (*05 for software version), (*03 + password + line number, to access CO port), (*08 test phone). Would appreciate a listing plus any caveats in using them. Thanks.

Hi BobbR,
I was thinking of doing a post also, but I will add to yours. The only ones I found in the maintenance manual are:
*00 for MLX phones
*03 trunk testing
*04 TTR testing
*05 system software version
*09 for MFM testing
I even though the *00 only tests the comm between the switch and the set and the LCD display. It is better than nothing.
Let us see if there are more responses.

I've found that *012 produces a very unpleasant tone in the receiver. Anyone know what thats for?

*011 and *012 is 1000k through the analog port. What it is there for, I have no idea. I have used it on low volume on off premise(008opt) to measure the frequency once in the 9 years I have been doing this. As well, *00 works on all non-tip/ring phones. Not just the MLX. So Test away folks.
