well, in this case i can help you with settings. if you tell me what software release you need to install, i can be more specific, but the most important guidelines are these:
1. system companding mode, as well as digital trunk companding should be set to a-law.
2. base tone generator set should be set to 15.
3. clear all entries in 'change ixc-codes' form, especially on page 2.
4. clear all default aar & ars digit conversion and analysis.
5. clear all default toll analysis entries.
6. if you plan to use ip telephony, preferred companding is a-law as well.
7. if you plan to use analog co trunks, the important settings are:
group type: co
country: 1 (!)
prefix-1: no
trunk type: loop-start (ground start is not supported here)
trunk termination: rc
outgoing dial type: mostly pulse, however if your central office switch supports it, preferred is tone of course
disconnect timing: 2500
disconnect supervision: n/n, russian co switches do not provide any disconnect supervision. there are special ways to overcome this, though.
answer supervision timeout: leave it default 10
receive answer supervision: n
maintenance tests: recommended to switch 'em off, most co switches have problems with it
all other settings should be leaved as default.
8. if you plan to use isdn-pri to co switch, ds1 settings should be as follows:
bit rate: 2.048
line coding: hdb3
signaling mode: isdn-pri
connect: network
country protocol: etsi
protocol version: leave default a, however some co switches require b
crc: this you should talk over with service provider
idle code: leave default
interworking message: progress (do not set alerting)
signaling group settings are mostly standard with exception of primary d-channel, remember that you should use e1 and d-channel is always 16th.
isdn trunk group is also mostly default, except service type should be network, codeset to send display: 0, supplementary service protocol should be 'c' (important!) and there is always disconnect supervision in both directions on the isdn trunk.
9. dial plan: by default, in this country '9' is used for ars access fac and '0' for attendant access.
10. ars analysis:

anyway, i'd recommend to outsource this task to some skilled people on-site, because in every country there are some legacy systems and compatibility issues, as usual.
if you're interested, i can help you with this.
uh-huh but mind that this bug was in r10 and earlier, and we're talking about fresh installation of s8300. guess what release it will be? r12 at least, and in this bug is fixed now. trust me.
do you plan to use co trunks or these analog modules are for users? in case of co trunks i'd recommend to think about disconnect detecting devices beforehand, to prevent usual user questions about locked up lines later.
