I inherited CE a couple of months ago and see it growing steadily. I'd like to setup standards for managing the Enterprise. I'd appreciate your input on what you've done in this area; especially with group, folder, and program names. Security and publishing policies and any other helpful tips would be much appreciated as well.

I try to set up the CE Group names to emulate the network Group Names (in this case it's an NT domain), which in theory emulate the business units within the company.

This simplifies security in that once users are added at the network level, the CE system can use the Groups the user is a part of to determine security. I then base Folders on these Group names.

As for naming conventions, use whatever naming conventions your IT department uses for coding practices, and do whatever it takes in the report/program naming to make it simple for your users to understand.
