Folks,

I'm looking for standards/best practices for grounding in e.g. server farms, etc. Wondering if there are any standards are other documents that would typically be followed in setting up such a facility.

Basically, if I'm setting up such a facility, or having such a facility set up, what standards should I follow or ensure be followed with respect to grounding?

Thanks.

Are you rack mounting the servers?

Running a 6 guage wire from the rack to the power ground would be the most ideal situation

Guys,

Thanks for the info. I will check out the listed sites. I have learned that DC sytems use a separate earth ground, and it seems like AC systems simlpy rely on the ground lead from the AC line. I don't know if most data centers, etc are using AC or DC powered systems - I'm thinking DC is mostly used in Telco and very mission critical stuff. What about most data centers or server farms, like what a typical commercial website would be hosted on? I'm thinking probably AC power in this case. I'll check your links for the grounding info.

Thanks a lot
