Hey Everyone,

I have a few pain points regarding the standard client and advanced client. Here they are:

-In SMS 2003, is the standard client for only 98 and NT 4? What SP for NT 4?
-can both advanced and standard clients exist in the same SMS 2003 primary site? I ask because we have a NT 4 domain (NetBIOS over TCP with WINS) and new AD (although no machines yet).
-Since we are migrating to AD, we would like to place the new SMS site server components (site servers, MP, SLP,CAP) in AD first while leaving the other machines in the NT domain(s).
- How would this work? Any feedback would be great.

- The "legacy" client is for Windows NT 4.0 and below. For Windows NT 4.0 the service pack must be SP6 or higher.

- Both clients can be deployed in a single SMS 2003 site.

- You can deploy SMS 2003 in AD and leave the machines in the other domain -- just make sure you do NOT choose Advanced Security. Keep with Standard Security until you migrate completely to AD. You'll also need to make sure that the proper accounts and account trusts are in placed between the Windows 2000 and NT domains.
