Hi all,

I'm running samba on an ultra10 and it's working fine, using scsi external drives and the network is 100Mb, in other words, lightning fast;
But when copying a 2 Gb file from the server to a client it runs perfect, but all other clients cannot refresh the share.
cpu is idling at 50% and top doesn't show counters out of range.

any ideas ?
I hate changing parameters and copying a 2 Gb file over each time just to see it killed in the last 20 seconds...

Thanks!

Hi gheist,

Could you be a little more specific ?

I'm running smbd -D for client connects & inetd is listening on tcp and starts a new smbd -D each time a new connection is made no?

Thanks,

I

smbd -D
runs independent samba daemon which handles all tcp connections to 139/tcp

inetd executes smbd every time somebody connects to port 139 according to its configuration

as there is only one port numbered 139 in system, these two ways cannot coexist

Hi Gheist,

Indeed...seems to hold up now,
nothing like a "everything working" friday ;)

Thanks
