Hello

Can anybody help please

What is the easiest way to write a date and time stamp to a file
I am looking to time when an overnight process finishes on a regular basis
Either through appending a line to a text file or overwriting
All the file needs is the start and finish date and time Thanks

Damian

This is pretty basic stuff. See faq329-3578 for a link to the VBScript documentation.

Open a textstream via FSO, write/append your timestamp string by formatting Now( ) via FormatDateTime( ).

All covered in the manual.

Thought it might be
Fairly new to this, i'll have a look where you suggested

Thanks
