stacked bar charts in excel

I'm trying to create quarterly stacked bar charts in excel. E.g. I want a stacked bar for Quarter 1 2000 and I want to have a stacked bar for Quarter 1 2001 right beside it. Then similarly for Quarters 2-4. This is possible with regular columns but with stacked bars excel inserts a space between Q1 2000 and Q1 2001.

Any tips for eliminating the space between the stacked bars? I've tried everything.

Right click on the bar...

Format data series>options>gap width....set to zero
