Hello there,

I am having big problems with some device on my network which is broadcasting a lot of spanning tree packets. So far I have only been able to determine the MAC address of the sender, but none of my devices actually have this address.

After reading information on stacking BayStacks, i found this information: If the base unit's MAC address is 00-00-82-99-44-00 and the offset is 1F then the stack MAC address becomes 00-00-82-99-44-1F.

Where do I find this offset information?

I have almost the same MAC address, except it ends with -89-01 which makes offset to 1E in my case...

Hopefully there's somebody out there who can shed some light in my dark tunnel....

Cheers
Knut Erik
