I recently got an old RCA rack cabinet (circa 1957), from my mom's office. This was their old sound rack that was built into a wall. There were conduits in the floor so most of the bottom of the rack is cut out. I have all my equipment (patch panel, hubs, shelves, and a computer) in there, but the rack is really unstable. Any suggestions on how I can fix this problem?
TIA
Jeff

Without actually seeing it the only thought I would have is to get a couple pieces of angle iron and bolt them on.

You could try bolting the bottom to a piece of 3/4 or 5/8 inch plywood. Or have some metal bolted or welded on.

Also place a diagonal cross brace on the back to stiffen the rack from side loads.
