I am a programmer and just took a class on SQL Server Reporting Services. I work in a small shop where our IT staff is not very knowledgeable about SQL Server setup beyond the defaults.

My computer appears to have SSRS set up on it. I say that because when I try and install it, I get a message that it is already there. However I do not see the option to do a Report project in my VS 2005 designer.

What could be wrong?

Do you see the ReportServer db and ReportServerTemp db on your SQL server? If yes, then SSRS has been installed. However it may not be properly configured, but that doesn't matter here. Are you trying to design a package in VS or through BIDS? Try through BIDS.

Let me know if this doesn't point you in the right direction.

The option to select a report package or project does not appear in BIDS or VS.

Thanks for responding.
