Hi,

This question has been asked many times but as I read through the posts and query the internet I see there have been many updates over time. We're using SQL Server 2008 R2.

I have data in two databases, DatabaseA and DatabaseB, on the same server that I want in a report. The dataset I'm using for the report is based on a view. I don't want to hardcode the view to the 2 databases because in my example I'm suggesting there are 2 databases on the same server, but depending on what server I'm looking at there may be 1, 3, 4, 5, etc tables.

Basically what I have is an inventory report for various regions and some regions have multiple warehouses on the same server they want reported on while other servers only have a single warehouse on the server. I'm trying to make the report as flexible as possible so I don't have a version of the report/view for each multiple of database on a server.

Thoughts?
