If we have Reporting Services 2005 installed on a server by itself, does the SQL agent need to be installed on that server as well in order for subscriptions to work? Or can the agent be on a separate server?

Thanks!

You cannot (from anything I've ever read or seen) utilize a SQL Agent from a remote instance so I'm guessing no.

To be honest I wouldn't try it nor have so it may be possible. Knowing the architect of SSRS though pretty well it does not sound viable

Lets see if we get a second on that

Correct, SQL Agent must be installed on the same server as the actual SQL Server.

I'm not the one who set these servers up. So I'll go talk with the person who did. Thanks to both of you for your help! :)
