Using SSRS 2005 I need to troubleshoot grouping. In data view, multiple providers are showing in results. When report is generated in preview there is only one provider showing in the table.

The report consists of List1 - grouped on Provider, within List1 there is List2 grouped on Service and a table is in List2 area with a group on insurance type.

I do have another report that is working fine, however it was created via wizard, then modified to meet our needs, so I am unsure of the properties needed in List areas.

I've attempt to make the 2nd report an exact model of the first. No success.

I was hoping this may be a common issue and someone would recognize the problem. OR Does anyone have a good resource to learn more about grouping

There's not a lot of information to go on here, but I'll give it a shot and hopefully some of these suggestions are helpful to you.

Select the List control, right click it and review the properties to see where the differences reside.

Also, if you are using a table, at what level in the table are your providers displayed - table header, group header, detail?

I don't know how you created this. If you created the table then applied the List function, you must be sure to DRAG the table inside the list control. You can't just draw the List Control over the top of the Table then send it to the back.

Not sure why you are using a list control. If you are performing simple grouping you can do that through right in your table. Try some troubleshooting steps. Remove the list control and see if you can get the data to generate just using a table. Try moving the fields to the detail level of the table if they are not already there. If you have more detail, please post and I'll try and be more specific.

Good luck!
