I have a problem med my robot and SSO.

I have 2 servers with BackupExec 8.6 and SSO installed.

The first servers has been running for a year with the connection to the Robot and using SSO for the tapedrives.

We wanted to install a second server so that we could write the backup directly to the tapedrives without using the LAN.

Installation of the second BackupExec server and sharing the catalog works fine. Backup to disk from the second server also works fine.

The problem is that mount requests from the second server is not passed to the robot.
So basicly what we see is that the second BackupExec server is just waiting for the mount that never happens.

Am I missing something or is BackupExec so dumb that it can't share the robot?

hmm if i get U rigt, you have shared the storage from the 2ond server.

When using the shared storage, u must install and create the share on the first server. then connect to that server from the second server.

To connect to a shared storage, U use the program "beattach.exe" that is found under x:\program files\veritas\backup exec\nt

I have tried this out several times and is working fine.

The second server can see the drives since they are on our SAN.
The 2 servers already share the BackupExec database and SSO is installed on both servers.

What seem to be the problem is that mount requests from the second server (that doesn't have connection to the library) should go to the first server and the first server should request the mount in the library.
This is the part that doesn't seem to work.

When you talk about the shared storage, do you talk about the BackupExec database or the shared tape drives.

Tapedrives by the way are STK9940 with native fiber.
