Not much material out there as to whether there is a benefit of using this or not (in Windows). Most "how to's" list that you should disable this option in the config, but that goes against all documentation saying that performance will greatly increase if you have the cache turned on, be it by whatever means you use (shm vs dbm).

Does anyone know the real answer to this one? And if it should be used, what type is best to use?
