I've been through the entire Microsoft site and many others with still no solution to this problem.

After going step by step through creating a certificate, installing it on a client, requiring SSL under Directory Security, I cannot access the page via HTTPS, only through HTTP.

Any ideas would be much appreciated. Is it possible port 443 is not open? How do I check that? It is enabled under the website properties.

Thanks in advance!

Hi!

first you have to confirm the certificate if it is working or not (how to confirm this)
type the url address like this filename.htm
folder should be the specific folder where you have selected use secure communication for this folder in the IIS . If you can see a lock sign in your browser and you can read the information of your certificate it means you have succesfully installed the certificate. will send you some sample code in java script and html if required.

Thanks for your help. I have been working on this for days. I can only get the SSL to work with Active Directory installed. That gives me the added capability to edit group policy security settings and use Certificate Request Application. I'll go with that for now. Thanks again!
