SSL Help?

Let me start by saying that I am not a web guy. I am a network guy. I was given the task of making a link off of our main web page secured with SSL. I don’t know where to start. Can someone point me in the right direction. Our site is running on Windows Server 2000 IIS. We don’t want the entire site secured, just a link off the site such as.

https://www.site.com/secureme.html

Where as our main site would be:

http://www.site.com

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Here are a couple of options:

Purchase a SSL for

http://www.site.com

and then update any links to the pages/folders you would like secured with

https://www.site.com/secureme.html

Create a subdomain (

http://securearea.site.com)

and then purchase a SSL for the subdomain. You could then put your secure pages on the subdomain.
