I just set up my Exchange Server. Everything seems to be working from the LAN side. I can log it to the web mail, except I am warned that their is an issue with the security certificate. The certificate issue is why I have not updated the MX record on the public side yet

Do I have to purchase one from Go Daddy or can I generate my own in Exchange?

You get the prompt when logging into Outlook Web App? Which of the sections doesn't have the green checkmark? That will tell you what's wrong.

If you're accessing it via a public URL, and haven't installed a trusted certificate from a third party vendor, you'll see that message.

I have not changed the MX records yet with my registrar so I can not access it publicly. I get the following error on the LAN side:

The security certificate presented by this website was not issued by a trusted certificate authority.

Security certificate problems may indicate an attempt to fool you or intercept any data you send to the server.

Okay, well, MX records have to do with mail delivery, not OWA access.

You should be installing a certificate from a third party vendor, and including your public OWA name, autodiscover name, EAS name, etc.

I thought I would, just wanted to make sure. Did not want to have to spend money that didn't need to be spent.
