We have an ssl cert issued from a second tier group - not Verisign. They are supposed in the Windows updates and they have a root install program at but when we run it, we see the same issues as before running it.
If we use the Windows client installed on a machine, then it works fine. But if we use the Java or ActiveX client, it won't work - even after installing the root install pack as listed above.
This is fine when we have admin access on the machine, like our own laptops or home machines - but we are also interested in a scenario where we are at a client site and using a guest login on one of their machines, or if we are in a hotel on a public machine - there we cannot install the Windows client, so we would need ActiveX or Java there.
What options do we have, other than buying another certificate, this time from Verisign?
