Hi,

I am trying, after my package runs succesfully, to have a simple SQL statement run (summarizing two fields from my import table) and have the results be place in a message box so the user sees the two fields summarized in the message box so they can confirm against a Cognos application that the data loaded properly.

Does anyone have any idea as to how I would do this. I know how to use an Execute SQL Task and link variables to the results in the SQL Statement in the "Result Set" portion of the Execute SQL Task object.

The question is how would I place those variables into a message box and display them once the package is finished running. Or is there an easier way. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

You can use a Script Task to write VB or C# code to display a message box. Variables can be accessed from Script Tasks as long as you set them to be accessed in your Script Task property page.

you can use a message box but if you want to be able to run the process in a non interactive manner you might have some issues. WHat is the purpose of the box? just to show that the process ran and show the results? If so you can do that in an email task.
