Hello,

I have an SSIS package which is failing due to a SQL Server 2000 data conversion error which results in a loss of precision. Basically, a problem with [DT_STR] from the flat file to decimal(38, 2) in the SQL table.

I have tried several things, including trying to get them to send us the file with these fields as [DT_NUMERIC], but no go.

In any case, if anyone has any advice or suggestion I would really appreciate it.

Thanks,
Larry

1. Are the string values in the flat file already incorrect or is the problem caused by the table load?
2. By 'no go' do you mean that it didn't fix the problem, or that you couldn't get the sender to try it?
3. Can you provide a couple of examples of values that failed?

Simon
