SSIS create daily new xls files with Date in name

I am unable to build out the populating portion of my package. I have a query that gathers daily data. I am looking for two solutions for output 1.) populate xls files in specified directory on the network (ie Output_yyyymmdd.xls) 2.) Email (using Outlook) users the files are compiled and ready to be viewed.

My dilemma is creating a connection manager for the Excel file & Using a variable for file path.

As for item #2, I haven't started down that winding road... yet.
