I'm having a problem getting SSIS to connect to an FTP site via the FTP Connection Manager and the FTP Task. I get a rather unhelpful error of "Connection can not be established. Server name, port number, or credentials may be invalid."

I've confirmed my server name, port number and credentials by using FileZilla from the same machine to create a connection. It worked fine. So we also tried the command line FTP and it worked fine. We tried two different FTP sites, still no love in SSIS. I tried "passive" and "active" as well.

Any ideas? Any other tools I can use?
Thanks!

SSIS may be using a different login then what you log in to it as. Try a trace to see what login it is passing to the FTP server. It may be trying to connect to the FTP server using the account the SSIS service runs as.

I'm not sure what I changed, but it started working... It had failed on two differet FTP servers, but now it works on both... :S I didn't restart or close anything, so I'm really not sure what changed... Maybe a typo somewhere, but I tried entereing the information several times, so it's not at the top of my list.

Just weird...
