Hi all,

Got a slight problem.

I have two machines both runnign Windows XP Pro SP2.

One is a laptop with an inbuilt 11b wireless card.
The other is a desktop PC with a USB 11g wireless adapter.

I used the Windows Wireless Networking wizard on the home PC, as this is the machine that has the broadband connection. It was working fine yesterday, even after a few reboots. However I have seen tonight/today that both machines seem to not be able to see the SSID that I chose. I am assuming if the PC does not retain it, then the laptop will never find it.

Has anyone ever heard of this before, if so is there a way around it, as it is causing much grief!

Many thanks for your time!

1. Under Network Connection, Properties, General, Configure, Advanced, enter the desired SSID for both adapters in the adapterconfiguration and not just autodiscovered as an available network.

2. Make sure the SSID appears in the "Preferred Network" bottom box under Wireless Networking.
