Hi there,

=========================
Is it possible to use an SSI call from within a .pl or .cgi file to call some plain text/links (.txt file)?

The .txt file is outside of the cgi-bin.

Bye,
Jenny :)

I don't think so. Usually SSI are processed by the web server when it sees that the file being requested has a .shtml extension, or .html if that's the way the web server was set up. Unfortunately, a cgi script has neither.

Can you just modify the cgi script to read the file you want to include and insert it's contents into your output?

Hia ts,

Yeah, that's what I did - 'modify the cgi script to read the file you want to include and insert it's contents into your output'.

I just would have loooooved it if I could have used the one SSI file for everything. Oh well, I've been looking and asking for a while and it looks grim.

Thanks for the responose!
Jenny
