I've a problem. I'm using an older version of IIS. It seems that this IIS only understands the <!--#include...--> command. The command <!--#echo...--> does not seem to work. Maybe anyone have a solution.

Thanks

OK...
Problem solved by myself. SSI-Files are needing execute rights to work correct. To include extension like .shtml to your SSI-Interpreter just start regedit32 and add the following value:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
\SYSTEM
\CurrentControlSet
\Services
\W3SVC
\Parameters
\Script Mapping
.shtml : REG_SZ : "Path of SSI DLL (e.g. C:\Winnt\System32\inetsvr\ssinc.dll)"
