I have installed RedHat 7.3 on a works machine, only to find that I cannot logon from my PC running putty. However I can login to another Linux machine and ssh in the new Redhat machine with no problems.

The error I get is network timeout.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Have you checked /etc/hosts.deny for your IP, Do you have SSH2 only specified(I dont know if putty has this, but from what i understand it doesnt) Can you pull up any services on the machine from the workstation you are using putty on, such as apache or sendmail etc..
