I am using public key SSH to rsync from various servers to a backup host behind a static IP. That host now needs to be another machine on a dynamic IP.

I can't find the docs to configure the pub key so that the hostname/IP/whatever in the shared public key will allow this host to SSH in from a dynamic IP.

I don't use a dyndns service, so the hostname isn't available.

What do I do?

Don't quote me on this but it should just be a case of editing the identity (clients private key) probably in ~username/.ssh/authorized_keys2 and choping off the @123.234.5.678 at the end of the key so you are left with: ....... <snip>ghyqUvIBbz6LG2sY5F5GJexvt3kSxZ9C8w1BDrXC8+4jgpiI9eD/IyVEKzKjZI2BoIow== username

It also depends if you are authenticating on the server or client key?

Good Luck,
Laurie.
