Hi

I am looking to have some local webpages connecting to our remote mysql database. I am having trouble getting a connection string to allow me to do this as the remote mysql database server requires SSH connections. I can connect ok to the database with putty using SSH, just can't configure the connection string to do this for me.

It is something I will need to do a lot of as I am looking to configure downloads of data etc from the remote database to our local mysql database.

Any help with this would be great.

Cheers

Cammy

You may want to ask about your MySQL settings in the MySQL forum here: forum436

SSH is strictly an encrypted command-line access. While I am sure it would be possible to force MySQL to tunnel through SSH, I don't think there would be many clients/drivers that could handle that.
Generally there are two connection methods to MySQL: Local connections and network connections. If the network capability has not been turned on for the server, or has been configured with non-standard options, then that is what your connection string will need to reflect.
