Has anybody noticed that if a user logs in over SSH and their password is expired (therefore they forced to change it) if they select a password that doesn't apply to the AIX rules you have setup, ssh will automatically log them out with out giving them a description of what happened?

Maybe that was a muddy description. Does anyone have a way to fix this? I'm using 3.8.1.

Let me rephrase this.

I've diagnosed that ssh only auto closes the session when the screen says "Contact your system administrator". This would happen if max_expired is reached. Has anyone seen this?

I have seen this happen on telnet sessions also. I have not found the cause of the drop yet.
