We have a Small Business Server 2000 including ISA server 2000 and need to allow a specific external IP address to access a Linux server, within our firewall, with one of our private IP Addresses, via a SSH connection. I thought that I had put the appropriate protocol rules in place but the connection does not work. Can anyone offer any tips at all?

This is probably a silly question but have you opened port 22 on your firewall among other things? Also, since it is in a private IP address, do you have a router with NAT that correctly routes request from the specific external IP to correct private IP?

Yes, port 22 is open and as far as I can see the rules and filters setup in ISA 2000 should be routing the request from the external address to the internal address but I am by no means an expert with this so I may be overlooking something fundamentally simple.
