I have successfully installed my PIX at the remote site and everything is working perfectly including the VPN. What does not work well for me is being able to SSH into the box from a VPN client. I understand telent will not work, and I am new to SSH. I have tried tera-term pro, but I don't know if the problem is my lack of understanding, a config problem on the pix, or the horribly written tera-term pro interface. Any help on this would be great.

Thanks

What have you done so far to enable SSH on the PIX?

Chris.

HI.

I use PUTTY, which is a good free SSH client:

When using it - there are 2 important settings for connection to pix in the Connection - SSH page:
* Preffered SSH protocol version = 1
* Preffered encryption algorithm = DES

For the pix configuration part, use the following commands:
ca generate rsa key 1024
ca save all
ssh X.X.X.X 255.255.255.255 outside

Bye
